Compassionate care focused on lasting emotional wellness.
Andrea, APRN
Andrea L. Morgan, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and co-owner of Sunflower Mental Wellness, LLC, with practice locations in Hutchinson and Pratt. She has worked in the mental health field for more than 15 years and has practiced as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse for the past 6 years. Her professional background includes experience in Community Mental Health Centers (CMHCs), Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities (PRTFs), hospital coverage, partial hospitalization programs (PHPs), and outpatient psychiatric care.
Andrea earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wichita State University and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Washburn University, where she received the Clinical Excellence Award for her graduating class, as well as the Outstanding DNP Project Award alongside her project partner.
She is board certified as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. In 2023, Andrea was also honored with the Washburn University Excellence in Graduate Preceptorship Award.
She provides psychiatric care for patients ages 6–66 and treats a wide range of conditions, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and bipolar disorder. Her clinical interests include treatment-resistant depression, perinatal mental health, and trauma-informed care. Andrea was among the first providers to bring SPRAVATO® treatment for treatment-resistant depression to the Hutchinson area and has since expanded those services to Pratt.
Andrea believes mental health care should be collaborative, individualized, and grounded in evidence-based practice. She views her role as listening carefully to each patient’s experiences and concerns, developing a thoughtful diagnostic impression, and presenting treatment options supported by current research. Patients are empowered to choose the treatment path that feels right for them and are encouraged to provide ongoing feedback so care can be adjusted together over time.
At Sunflower Mental Wellness, LLC, every patient is treated with compassion, dignity, and respect, regardless of race, gender, or belief system. The clinic was intentionally designed to provide a calm, welcoming atmosphere that feels less clinical and more comfortable for patients. Her primary office, located in a converted home in Hutchinson, reflects this philosophy by offering a relaxed environment with accommodations such as fidgets and sensory supports for neurodiverse patients.
Andrea is passionate about advocating for individuals whose mental health needs have too often been overlooked or delayed because of stigma. She values building long-term therapeutic relationships and finds fulfillment in helping patients discover peace, healing, and an improved quality of life through their unique journeys toward wellness.
Outside of practice, Andrea enjoys learning new things, reading, and spending time with her family. Telehealth appointments are available upon request. She accepts most commercial insurance plans, Medicare, KanCare United, and KanCare Sunflower, although her practice is currently closed to new KanCare patients.
