Mindy, APRN

Mindy L. Manning, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and co-owner of Sunflower Mental Wellness, LLC, with locations in Hutchinson and Pratt. She has more than 20 years of experience in the mental health field and has practiced as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse for the past 3 years. Her background includes extensive work in community mental health, including experience as a registered nurse at a Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) and providing psychiatric home visits within the community.

Mindy earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Hutchinson Community College, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wichita State University, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Washburn University. She is board certified as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

She provides outpatient psychiatric care for patients ages 6–66 and treats a broad range of conditions, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and bipolar disorder. Her professional interests include treatment-resistant depression, as well as the mental health needs of children and adolescents.

Mindy believes patients should be active participants in their treatment and works collaboratively with each individual to create realistic, personalized plans of care that align with their goals and values. She values building strong therapeutic relationships grounded in trust, consistency, compassion, and open communication. Patients visiting Sunflower Mental Wellness, LLC, can expect a welcoming, respectful, and judgment-free environment where their concerns are heard and taken seriously.

She was drawn to psychiatry because it combines clinical care with relationship-building, advocacy, and the opportunity to help people improve their quality of life in meaningful and lasting ways. One of the most rewarding aspects of her work is helping patients better understand the connections between their experiences, symptoms, behaviors, and stressors so they can feel more empowered and confident in managing their mental health.

In addition to her clinical work, Mindy is involved in the Reno County Mental Health Task Force and is passionate about supporting mental health awareness and access within the community. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, camping, hiking, golfing, and attending concerts.

Telehealth appointments are available upon request. Mindy accepts most commercial insurance plans, Medicare, KanCare United, and KanCare Sunflower, although her practice is not currently accepting new KanCare patients.
